How long is the course?

Our Beverage management course is a four-class, 12-hour course designed to prepare students to hit the ground running as they make the leap from front of house to bar and beverage management. The course covers generally accepted beverage management principles for conceiving, building, and running beverage programs in both the on-premise and off-premise sectors.

What will students learn?

Students will begin by learning who the beverage manager is and the various titles he or she might hold, the different paths for a beverage manager, what he or she does day-to-day, what traits good beverage managers need to succeed, what beverage managers in each sector should earn, where to find beverage management jobs, and what to ask during interviews for beverage management roles.

They will then be exposed to the general theory behind beverage program conception, construction, and maintenance for different on-premise and off-premise models, supplemented by the examples of three sample beverage program scenarios followed throughout the various phases of the beverage management process.

Finally, the class will examine the unique challenges of directing beverage operations across multiple units, States, and concepts.
